Open Enrollment Spotlights Coverage Enhancements
Including Increased Dental, Hearing, Vision, Behavioral Health and Fertility Benefits
Since 2005, SEIU 775 Benefits Groups has worked to continuously strengthen the quality of caregivers’ healthcare coverage while maintaining an affordable monthly copay. This year is no different, with exciting improvements being announced during our annual Open Enrollment Period — July 1-20.
A number of the enhancements will play a big role in notably reducing caregivers’ out-of-pocket costs, especially related to vision and dental benefits. These include:
- Vision: An increase in our annual vision benefit for hardware from $300 to $600.
- Dental: An increase in lifetime orthodontia benefits through Delta Dental from $2,000 to $5,000.
- Hearing: An increase in our benefit through EPIC Hearing to $3,000 per ear every 3 years (up from $1,200).
- Medical supplies: Full coverage for pre-authorized diabetic supplies and Durable Medical Equipment, like oxygen equipment, wheelchairs or blood-testing strips.
- Emotional health: Increased access to behavioral health programs.
“These big coverage increases – especially related to vision, dental and hearing benefits – ultimately mean caregivers will have less out-of-pocket costs and greater peace of mind related to their health needs,” said Christina Johansen, Health Benefits Trust Managing Director.
Another important enhancement is increased access to fertility and family-building benefits through a new partnership with Progyny. Progyny provides coverage for the latest treatments, support and high-quality care in the following areas:
- Pre-conception and support: A 12-month program for family planning support, education and resources.
- Fertility and family-building: Access to a network of fertility specialists, unlimited clinical and emotional support and fully-covered services, tests and treatments.
- Menopausal and mid-life care: Personalized care for all stages of menopause that includes supplements or medications, lifestyle support and screenings for age-related health risks.
Increased access to fertility support – along with last year’s expansion of dependent coverage – has made our coverage increasingly responsive to the needs of caregivers that are parents.
Caregivers can sign up for coverage or make changes to their plan during Open Enrollment, with new enhanced benefits available on August 1, 2024.
