These courses focus on topics caregivers identified as essential to their work, including support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as other complex care needs.<\/p><h4>Meeting Caregivers\u2019 Evolving Needs<\/h4><p>Over the next year, the Benefits Group will develop an additional 28 courses, expanding on the 43 courses recently released. This ongoing expansion demonstrates our proactive investment in Washington\u2019s caregiving workforce, aligning with our broader goals for inclusive, lifelong learning.<\/p><p>Rooted in caregiver input, the newest courses explore topics such as:<\/p><ul><li>Autism<\/li><li>Down Syndrome<\/li><li>Cerebral Palsy<\/li><li>Crisis Prevention<\/li><li>Person-Centered Care<\/li><\/ul><p>We are partnering with experts and institutions, such as the University of Washington, to develop additional new topics for courses focused on caring for clients 0-17 years old.<\/p><p>As a result of our strong advocacy and informed by caregiver feedback, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) implemented a rule simplification that permits caregivers to repeat CE courses.
